This policy describes the processing of personal data carried out by TDC Coletor, the check-in application of The Developer's Conference, available for iOS, Android and browser. It is permanent and independent of the event edition; the policy for each edition is available at thedevconf.com/privacidade.
The application is used by the event staff and by exhibitors to register attendance in the tracks and to perform badge readings at the booths. It is not intended for attendees: those who enroll in the event do not need to install it.
The application therefore involves two different people, with distinct processing: the person who uses the application and the person whose badge is read.
Applies to staff, volunteers, the organization and exhibitors.
E-mail address — requested for authentication. Access is granted by a code sent to the e-mail address provided at enrollment, and the application does not use passwords. Purpose: to authenticate access and identify who performed each record.
User and sponsor identifiers — used to link each reading to the responsible person and booth, and to restrict access to that sponsor's data.
Record of the readings performed — composes the event reports and the monitoring dashboards displayed within the application itself.
This data is used solely for the operation of the application. There is no tracking, no advertising, no behavioural analytics tools are used, there is no crash analytics SDK, and the data is not shared with third parties for such purposes.
Camera — badge reading uses the device camera exclusively to decode the printed QR code. No image or photograph is stored or transmitted: the camera is used only at the moment of the reading, and the application processes the content of the code alone.
QR code content — the code contains no personal data. It carries only event and participant identifiers, together with a digital signature that prevents the badge from being used at an event other than the one it was issued for.
By having their badge read at the booth, the participant chooses to share their contact data with that sponsor, under the terms of the policy of the event edition in which the reading occurs. Sharing is limited to sponsors participating in that edition, and they are subject to the mailing list terms of use signed when sponsoring the event.
Outside of that case, the data processed by the application is not shared, sold, assigned or transferred to third parties.
Access credentials are stored in a protected manner on the device itself (Keychain on iOS and equivalent secure storage on Android) and are discarded upon signing out of the application. All communication between the application and the TDC servers is encrypted.
Reading records are stored in The Developer's Conference database, subject to the same security measures and the same storage period described in the policy of the corresponding edition.
You may request confirmation of the existence of processing, access, correction, anonymization, portability or deletion of your data, as well as withdraw consent, at any time and free of charge.
